The 2025 Apprenticeship Installer Competition brought together seven skilled apprentices and a supportive crowd of about 25–30 attendees for a day of friendly competition and celebration of the trade.

While turnout could have been higher (and will be next year πŸ˜‰), the energy from those who attended made for a lively and engaging atmosphere. This year’s competition went smoothly, with all contestants keeping pace as they completed their mock-ups. The quality of work, especially in heat welding among the top four apprentices, was impressive and highlighted the skill and dedication of our next-generation installers.

In the end, Diana Jimenez took first place for the second straight, a testament to her precision, skill, and attention to detail. Diana will now advance to compete in the Apprentice of the Year Installer Competition at the International Surface Event in Las Vegas β€” congratulations and good luck, Diana!

The event was made possible through the collaboration of SoCal Floor Layers LMCC, who provided food from Cujo’s Big Smoke BBQ , merchandise giveaways including hats, beanies, and Installer Competition shirts, and overall support to ensure everything ran smoothly. Attendees enjoyed not only the competition but also a festive, community-centered environment with family, friends, peers, and sponsors adding to the excitement.

Looking ahead, hosts hope to continue building engagement and turnout for next year, making the Apprenticeship Installer Competition bigger and better while maintaining the camaraderie and learning opportunities that make this event so special.
